This laser is used primarily in Urology to break up stones found in the kidney, bladder, urethra and the ureter. Other small urological procedures such as bladder tumor and strictures can also be performed. The SPHINX lasers are manufactured by LISA laser products OHG of Katlenburg-Lindau Germany. LISA laser products is renowned for its range of Holmium and Diode lasers that are used throughout the world. "This extra power means that the SPHINX 30 watt is ideally suited to treat stones and small soft tissue procedures. The SPHINX is a family of pulsed Holmium lasers that range in power from 30 watts to 80 watts. The SPHINX is used in Arthroscopy, Urology, ENT, Gynecology, Gastroenterology and Spinal surgery. AutoFlex is a new handpiece with a bendable tip that is utilized with the SPHINX laser in minimally invasive surgery. The surgeon can control the tip angle to steer the fiber into very tight spaces during the procedure.
